What does entrepreneurship mean to Hunaja Hetke?

Hanaja Hetki and entrepreneurship

Let's start with the fact that it's 10:39 p.m. Swedish time, we're on vacation and taking a breather after the busy Christmas sales season. The children are sleeping and the house is quiet. After a long inspired chat, I made a cup of hot tea and decided to open the computer, because I knew that now is the moment when work flows like a dance and thoughts flow. Is that wrong? We are mostly used to working during office hours, or at least many people, especially those with families, idealize work done during office hours, and yes, there are many good sides to that. However, entrepreneurship is trying, where nothing happens if nothing is done. When should they be done? Of course, we are reachable and at least we try to be during office hours, but often customers contact us when they have a need and that can be at any time. Trade fairs, markets, sales events are outside office hours, because then customers are better able to participate. The clock is ticking and I think I'm still on the computer half the night. However, I know that the children have a nurse in the morning and things to do. I'm at my best when I've spent the day with the kids, taken a breather and in peace and quiet I open the computer and think about the to-do list, answer emails, update websites and write this blog. Nobody interrupts, the phone doesn't ring, nobody answers emails right away. Time only with my own thoughts and work.

During the day, several dozens of messages may rush into your email, some of which you have to react to immediately, some of which you have to react to soon, and some of which you have to think about, because the answer is that they won't be forgotten behind the new and the next day's dozens of messages. During the day, the phone also rings, you have to cook, take care of the children, animals and the weather changes. You can't take care of bees in the rain, for example, and situations change quickly. However, we don't think this is a problem.

Paid work vs. trying

Let's think that we would work three shifts, for example, Mon and Tue off, Wed, Thur evening and Fri and Sat night, Sun sleep day. The children would be at school, we would be at work, sleeping and probably always available at the wrong time. As an entrepreneur, we have the opportunity to be flexible and creative. Not always and there are urgent seasons, but in the end games we ourselves decide what is important and what is not. For us, Hunaja Hetke also has the advantage that there are two of us, which means you can always ask for help and share tasks.

At Christmas, we were both Hunaja Hetke entrepreneurs selling 22 days for one call, plus other jobs that it caused. Since then, we have been with the children all the time and the children will not return until January 8. to schools and care. We can take time off from work for the family or we can take the family with us to work. The best thing for us children in the summer was the summer events organized at Hunaja Hetke locations. A couple of excerpts from summer conversations, Daughter: "Mother, mother, since that event is again, couldn't it be already tomorrow?" Mother: "what was the best thing about summer?" Daughter: "My only caregiving aunt came to our summer event and played with me all day, it blew me away" At the same time you tell and show the children and the family that this is also the mother's work and they can join in watching.

In addition, short events and markets elsewhere, for example on May Day, the children were involved and played all day and were on the children's track while the mothers were at work. In our opinion, freedom to choose and do is a big part of entrepreneurship, and no, it's not always easy. For example, during the first year we have almost been in court, our lawyer died, one of us had a stroke, and several other misfortunes have happened sooner than you could imagine. But can adversity happen if you never try? Can you succeed if you never try? We have also succeeded, we have taken extra time, we have developed our own operations, we have learned. The best thing about entrepreneurship has certainly been the meetings with such wonderful entrepreneurs that we have gotten to know, but above all the wonderful meetings with customers. Neither of us believe that Honey Moment would exist without both of us. The support and security of another, the same train of thought and understanding of things is absolutely insane.

In the blog, we will tell you more about what entrepreneurship means to us and what it is like to be an entrepreneur.
